Team that trade for Tkachuk would trade players of comparable salaries.
Anyway this playoffs was the first step as Sutter said. It’s shown that they both can perform in the playoffs. They just need to take the next steps

I don't agree with Sutter. They won a series sure . They did that under Glue gun too. Then followed up a second round exit winning 1 and losing 4 in a row. They also only one a game in 2015 vs the ducks.
I don't see that as progress. I see the trend Johnny not showing up in the play offs each and every time. He scored an absolutely lucky goal to limp the Flames past a team Calgary should have handled quickly .
I don't want to uave JG leave but I wouldn't be sad to see that extra cash go towards filling out the rest of the roster . I think the back half of the contract is going to be an anchor. I think putting that much in for both these players we will end up the Buffalo of the West.
