My thinking has always been that all dogs can go nuts and bite someone. Not all dogs are engineered specifically for the purpose of killing other animals in fights. If you live in the city, why do you need a dog like that when other dog breeds are available, many specifically for the purpose of solely being companions to humans.

I was renting my basement suite out, and it's amazing how many people think I'm going to let their pit bull(s) share my backyard with my one year old child. Even one claiming it was some kind of human rights violation not to rent them the space.
More par for the course. Pit bull owners are not sensible people evidenced by the fact they own a pit bull.
