Will likely be found to be some teen edgelord or some idiot who thought they could get out of a test. Hamilton also had some 14 year old girl charged with mischief for threatening a school but was already released. If it does end up being a credible threat, it's likely that the would-be attacker wouldn't have the same access to the type of guns that have caused multiple casualties down south but almost certainly won't be a credible threat.

There's been shootings at Canadian schools (robberies, domestic disputes, targeted attack), but very few school shootings. The last one, and only one to result in more than one innocent victim killed at a school since 1992, was the La Loche school shooting in 2016 I believe. That saw two teachers killed (and two more family members of the preparator killed in their homes) as the teen brought his shotgun into the school. Dawson College should have resulted in multiple deaths, but luckily only one victim was killed, same with Taber. 1992 saw the Concordia University shootings, but that was more of a workplace dispute that resulted when an employee was fired and he took it out on his colleagues. And of course Ecole Polytechnique in 1989.
