In both this and TVLine's articles "confirming" James Earl Jones voiced the part, their confirmation begins and ends with the end credits listing him.
BUT: Also in the credits is the Respeecher, which has only been listed in the credits for Lucasfilm shows in which a character's vocal performance was done using AI re-creation. Note that in those previous instances, the actor who's voice was being replicated (Mark Hamill) was also credited, despite the fact they didn't actually do the voice work in question, nor were they actually in any of the shots used.
James Earl Jones didn't actually do any voicework for this show. He is credited because his voice is used, but the character was actually performed by the AI Respeecher.
Even the headline on this piece is fudging it. "James Earl Jones confirmed as the voice of Darth Vader" is technically true. But people are reading it and repeating it as if it means James Earl Jones performed the character for this show. And he didn't.
