Everyone has their way of perceiving the outcomes this post season and their opinions will be wrapped around their standard way of perceiving things. For an optimist, they'll look at Round 1 and point to the Flames sticking to their game and coming out on top while facing an opposing goaltender performance that most of the viewers have never seen in their lives to date. They'll point to the Flames being able to face all of the pressure of being a series favorite and having to play a Game 7, but still having the composure to gut it out in OT and win the series.

The pessimists will focus on the Flames being heavy favorites and not being able to beat the Stars quicker, winning in OT of Game 7 which for them, easily could have ended as a loss (though it didn't). And then when looking for reasons for the Flames underperforming, point to coaching, goaltending (despite stellar numbers from Markstrom but will lean to 'still was the second best goalie in the series!') or other players who didn't play their best game.
