Similar for me, tore my ACL and some meniscus playing ball hockey in 2011, had surgery in 2012. Was 29 at the time.
I dont play ball hockey anymore either, but golf, ice hockey, snowboarding are all 100% fine, and I stopped wearing my brace well over 5 years ago.
Oddly, sometimes on cold damp days, my knee kinda hurts. Or feels stiff sort of. Probably just in my head, overall its been great. Very glad I got the surgery done when I did. The recovery was not easy, was about 8-10 months for me.
