It was picked up by a couple Edmonton media (Bruce McCurdy) and even if it was just a Canucks journalist, they do cross at Vancouver.
Not sure why this may discount it.
Edit: reading more now it appears David Staples wrote about it as well and Kurt Levins is saying zero truth to it.
