I think the MJF think is a work.
It's approaching Pillman territory as it you can't really tell what's real and what's not.
He's always been a heel during fan interactions, what's the point of no showing fans who want to see him? To get them to hate him. He's a heel. The bad guy. Bad guys do bad things.
He's 100% committed to the character.
This gives him a well deserved break (not sure if he's taken one since the start of AEW).
The more the casual wrestling fan, or WWE fan hears about this the more they're gonna want to know about MFJ & AEW.
Maybe its legit? But to me, still feels like a work.
