I just don't see the GM paying two wingers on the first line 9 million plus, Johnny drives that line and someone else such as toffoli could still pot 25-30 goals. As much as Lindholm as been great, I think we can all agree that the centre ice position is still a weakness... if we are ever going to get pass teams like Edmonton and Colorado, we need a better 2nd line center, Backlund is better suited as a 3rd line centre.
We will never have better players then Edmonton (for now), I think a better strategy is to have 3 lines that can attack effectively, model themselves after Vegas.
I would trade Tkachuk to Ottawa for stutzle + draft picks in a heartbeat.
One way or another I am sure there is a way to get Lucic and Monahan off the books.
Sign Malkin at 4 years 6-7 million, you can bridge deal Stuetzle until Malkin deal expires.
