Other than Markstrom, I don’t think I could more disappointed in anyone else other than Tkachuk. He fought it against the heavy Stars lineup and really struggled to keep up against the Oilers. Maybe outside of 2 or 3 games, he was mostly bad and actively hurt his line in the process.
Very disappointing especially given how good he was in the playoffs with the London Knights. I figured there was another gear he could hit, but I‘ve seen enough of him in the NHL playoffs that leads me to believe that the Flames should sell high on him.
I think his physical shortcomings and immaturity will always be a factor when it comes to the playoffs and I wouldn’t want to be the team that has to risk paying him $10M a season to see him try to get over that hill. This team has a lot of holes and his cap space saved would ultimately be better spent elsewhere IMO.
