Like I guess if you want you can argue Gaudreau could have dropped down harder on Draisaitl but his centerman (Lindholm) is closing in on Draisaitl and Gaudreau's supposed to have the point man - where he guessed the puck was about to go so he slides up.
The first problem is Hanifin's decision to blindly toss it around the corner - which i think McDavid gets a stick on the puck. Then its the pass from Draisaitl to McDavid - Lindholm/Hanifin botch the coverage and McDavid is left wide open.
Its a 2 on 2 on the side wall and McDavid gets an open shot from the slot. That's not on Gaudreau.
