The playoffs this year have felt like regular season. It was a disappointing “battle” of Alberta, and not just because of who won and who lost. There was no battle, it was regular season hockey played in a series. The oilers whining last year seems to have paid off, but at the expense of entertainment.
The closest thing to playoff hockey we saw was the first few games against Dallas and it felt more like a game in January after that. If I was a casual fan and had no allegiances, I would feel ripped off of what could have been a truly epic series. I don’t want 1991 hockey back or even 2004…but 2015 seemed like a good place to stay.
