Was in utter shock when that goal was disallowed, especially considering some of the goals that have been allowed this season. Just another inclusion to the league's revolving door of justice/reviews. I mean if this goal wasn't good, then every skate goal theoretically shouldn't count based on precedent.
But of course this happens to the Flames though. Not sure what this franchise has done to constantly be stepped on by the league in critical playoff moments, but the feeling of "they're out to get us" isn't as farfetched compared to other franchises.
This call definitely pisses me off, but the screw job for a lack of a better word really started at the beginning of the playoffs. The league's directive to call penalties like the regular season changed the style of play completely for the Flames and the Oilers. This team was built to be mean and heavy, but with the way the game was being called, the tight checking style just lead to more and more penalties, 4 on 4 time and in the end, favored the Oiler's skill/speed game instead.
It just wasn't meant to be for the Flames. They were up against all odds. My hope is for the NHL to get absolutely crushed tomorrow just for pure revenge purposes. They deserve every bit of criticism that comes their way and then some.
