Not sure if it's because I don't live in Calgary, or even Canada for that matter, so I'm not surrounded by this series 24/7--which after last night is a good thing. With that said, I'm still not worried and am confident we turn this around and take the series. I'll put it this way, after going down 2-1 against Dallas, I did not feel good at all.
We know how streaky EDM can be and when they're on, the first line in particular, they can look electric. We also know that they aren't good defensively, and that Mike Smith is Mike Smith, and after facing Oettinger, I cannot imagine anyone in our lineup is worried right now about scoring.
With all this said, CGY/EDM games in the current era are always unpredictable, and this was never going to be an easy series. Last night, the crowd was electric, and the Oilers were absolutely feeling it. We played lousy, it happens, but this team is too good and too well coached to just roll over and die. I went into this series saying the Flames would win in 6--and I am sticking with that. Win Game 4 and it will be a completely different vibe in here. GFG!
