I'm not going to waste time expressing how much of a disaster game 1 was. We all knew what we saw and we know the team can be better. Game 1 will be a distant memory if we can win game 2.

My heart says we win
My head says we give up another 9 goals

Going to have to win this series with Ceci/Kulak facing top competition. If Woodcroft continues to expose Nurse in that regard, he will continue to get torched.
Not sure if this is viable over the length of a series. Pretty bummed out, but desperately trying to stay positive. McDavid and Smith are literally going to have to put the team on their backs.

Woodcroft has to realize that Nurse and Drai are currently liabilities and can't be played in the top lines/pairings. Either reduce their roles or don't dress them.

hopefully some adjustments have been made and Oilers actually start on time but I'm not holding my breath...

Yeah I think not dressing Draisaitl is a bit extreme. Nurse though, completely agree.
Their roles are already reduced, but they could be reduced even further depending on injuries. Nurse now gets 0 PP time, Draisaitl was not killing penalties.
Oilers are in really rough shape. Take any team in the league and take away arguably their best forward this season (pretty damn close at least) and their best D man, and it's usually bag packing time. I have absolutely rock bottom expectations for this series due to nothing more than the Oilers simply being too beat up. So, I'm really hoping I'm surprised.

McDavid is gonna have to go Supernova again and we need solid goaltending to stand ANY chance in this series.

The first shift is more important for this team than any I have ever seen. We win the shift, we have something to build on and feel good. We get buried and it snowballs for us very quickly.

I expect nothing from tonight, with Nurse and Drai both very obviously injured, we just don't have the horses to compete right now. Still looking forward to the game. Too many years without playoffs to stop appreciating them once you have them.

Saw the Oilers called up Sceviour. Roster's looking a tad bit thin seeing Draisaitl and Nurse's roles diminished.

I'll probably get ripped for saying this but I am saying it anyways.
If you can't come ready to play, in the second round of the stanley cup playoffs, for your first time getting there in almost a decade, against your provincial rivals and one of the best rivalries in all of sports, after a 30 year hiatus....
then you neither belong nor deserve to be in the playoffs.
I'm thoroughly disgusted by this teams effort to start this game.

That was nothing more than a corner Saturday afternoon kids hockey game where you throw your stick into a pile and pick teams. It was a joke and it was almost as though "OK we made it past round 1 so we've done what we wanted time to go home now".

Sadly, this will be another onslaught by the Flames. Men against Boys (Minus 97 and 29). The teams failure to utilize younger, faster, more energized players in Holloway, Broberg, Neimalinin(spelling). Plus the miscasting of Foegele, will be our undoing. Also, I would be going with Smith tonight being backed up by Skinner. Oilers lose 7-1.

I would like to see some punishment doled out to Gaudreau tonight. Calgary was dirty on McDavid last game with multiple late hits and attempts to muck it up with him in scrums. If they're going to do that, I think there should be some express show that it's going to just get Johnny Hockey hurt if they do that. If Archibald needs to be out there, then this would be something he could be used for. It can't be someone like Kassian without risking a significant penalty, but Archibald "accidentally" following through after a whistle, or something? I think a message should be sent.
