I can see if it is a huge blow out and there is no chance of the other team coming back, but chanting at 3-0 with 2.5 periods left is just tempting fate.

Isn't "WE WANT SMITH" as much a mockery of the No Goods as "WE WANT 10"? Shouldn't that motivate them just as much? I mean the people chanting "WE WANT SMITH" didn't want him back because they were sentimental...they wanted to score 10 on him.
Six of one, half dozen of the other if you ask me.
Those chants should be equally motivating to the Flames. I love a good "GO FLAMES GO" as much as the next guy. But I also enjoy the chants that get under the other team's skin...makes me feel like I am in the game.
