Tuned into TSN1260 yesterday to hear what the other side was saying (Jason Strudwick is a good analyst, Jason Gregor is NOT). Gregor had a guest on that was analysing Markstrom, and they mentioned that the Flames didn't make Oettinger work enough by moving side to side.
Things that stood out from that comment:
1. The historic amount of shots/opportunities we steered Oettinger's way
2. The Stars aren't dumb, they knew to limit shots that move him side to side, every defence tries to limit those opportunities.
Nice to see how historic that goaltending performance was, and how the Flames overcame it. Sweeping the Oiler's and Mike Smith would be amazing, and the Flames have the horses to do it.
