That seems to be their game plan, so long as Calgary isn't in the middle of the ice in our defensive zone we are winning. So, if Calgary cycles they are happy and don't want to break it up. If we flip the puck out of the zone and give it right back to them we are happy. If you dump the puck in and don't chase it we are happy.

Man, Bowness really is the living embodiment of an Old Boys' club coach.

Rick Bowness has decided to split up the Stars line that has scored 45 percent of the teams' goals this year (forty-five %!!!). The three players who know where the other two are on the ice every second of every shift without lifting their heads. The reason? Jason Robertson 'only has one assist and they need to get him going' by putting him on a line with Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin who have done, *checks notes, basically nothing substantive together the 15 other times Bowness paired the two together this year.

In a seemingly infinite line of head-scratching coaching decisions, this one might take the cake. That's really saying something for a guy who starts off his team's overtimes by icing a center who scored two goals all year and does fairly little to prevent the other team from doing the same.

Bowness stated in post game that he's likely changing the lines. I did scream Monday night "Rick where the #### is Petey?"
I can only hope I was loud enough that he heard me.

So, Bones thinks the answer is swapping out Robertson for Raffl and putting Robo with Benn and Segs. Uh-huh. The way this coaching and management staff elevates mediocrity is amazing.

It’s painful to watch other teams do what Dallas needs to do. With 3 minutes to go Johnny hockey circles back with the puck and maintains possession and they go back in to attack. Every star player would have dumped the puck in and ran to the bench giving the puck back over. These are professionals. They all can’t be that dumb to listen to this coach who is clearly more concerned about time on ice management than puck management.

If you think this Dallas team has anything in common with the Oilers or LA WC teams beyond them simply being WC, I don't know what to tell you.

Dallas and Nashville both backed into the playoffs and nearly dropped out. Dallas had the worst GD of any team making the playoffs. They are not good. They might be okay if they could score. They're entirely reliant on the best goalie in the playoffs right now, who looks better because the Flames also cannot score.

Oilers would have handled Dallas no problem.

They’re virtually the same team that made the SCF 2 years ago. They know how to play to win in the playoffs. They might have backed into the playoffs but they still only finished 6 points behind us. If LA didn’t have the super easy schedule to finish off the season they’d be out of the playoffs and we’d be playing Vegas right now.

I also don't see the Flames giving up 5 goals to the Kings though....
