Hockey is extremely stochastic. The most of all the sports. Hockey has a lot of negative nellies because the randomness allows that. You can build a great team and lose a series because of something totally out of their control.
Not sure if you've read The Success Equation. It's a recent book on luck vs skill.
I attribute any of my success to mostly dumb luck and a smattering of skill.

I don't know. It seemed to me watching that the Flames were not doing well in generating chances. Then I log onto the site and Bingo shows that they are generating a lot but not a lot is going in. I add to that Sutter saying the same thing in his media availability. Suddenly, I wonder if rather than them no generating changes I am reacting emotionally to them not scoring and that is messing with my perception - i.e. my perception that they are not generating much. I found the facts quite helpful.
