I think I even saw the Ref shrug his shoulders before awarding it. Like:
"What do you want me to do? He slashed his hands, on a breakaway, twice."
And the thing is...thats a huge risk. This isnt soccer where a penalty is like 90% a goal, in hockey its pretty 50/50. Oettenger makes that save and momentum swings like a huge pendulum.
I will agree that I loved watching the Stars being penned in their own zone. Klingberg was on the ice for four and a half minutes? That kind of icetime wears on you over a series.
The penalty after that was pure game management.

Obviously I am in a different demographic than you but the first one I saw was in the Flames/Habs series in 1986.
Game 1, Al MacInnis put one in on Patrick Roy. Unfortunately, game 1 is the only game we won in that series.
