I could see him as a leading candidate, but not a runaway candidate. He seems to have been built up as having a season of the ages, making him an MVP candidate. He is no Hasek.

I think save % is the most telling stat for a goaltender and it’s here he distinguishes himself.
His .935 is the highest mark of the last decade, 3rd highest since the lockout, and a full .010 higher than his next highest competitor this year, which is Sorokin at .925.
Not only that, his backup Georgiev, who also played a healthy 30+ games this season finished up with a .898 save percentage, proving it wasn’t just team defence earning those dazzling stats.
Funny enough if the Flames hadn’t lit Shesterkin up early in the season in two outings his stats would be even better.
Runaway for the Vezina IMO and could be a heart candidate. Though there’s no shortage of those this years, so a Vezina would be sufficient.
