Sure, and I think what the first 3.5 episodes did was take the racist undertones that have always existed with the Tuskan Raider character (whether a Bedouin caricature, or a Na###o one) and expand the knowledge and culture of those people into more than just a racial trope. They knew of the racist undertones of that fictional species going into the series, and played to it anyways, and I think in a very respectful and engaging way. They weren't just savages that stole women and were slaughtered by the white man. (Thank Ani).

And then they took all of that good work at redefining the species to be more than just the Dumbo Crows and be a living part of the script. Turning them into allies and assisting Boba in his mission also would have moved them from just being saved by the white (Maori) savior, and made them more robust.

Instead, I feel the series just took all of the time to fill them out into a living breathing race of peoples (Like the work done to flesh out Wookies) and dropped with a quick wipe out and replaced them with a bunch of White Farmers from Freetown.

I don't know who was displeased. Was it too PC to make them more than a racial trope? Or were people unhappy that the show would be hitting too close to home about the way we have treated our own North American Indigenous peoples? I don't think it is the PC people that would be upset about a native people rising up to defend their land - quite the opposite.

Either way I feel a good story was lost and replaced with flashy new toys and cool callbacks.
