To put it in perspective ...
Top line averaged a xGF last night of 0.09 ... less than 10% of a five on five goal.
On the season they averaged 0.79 xGF per game, and didn't have a single night at the 0.09 level. Their worst game in the regular season was the Nov 11th game in Montreal at 0.17.
So yeah ... I hear you, and the breeze comment.
Other way to look at it though ... Flames are up 1-0 with their top line playing their worst five on five game of the year! Like the odds of them improving from rock bottom.

I guess partly I 've lost track of what was 5 on 5 versus PP (damn I hate PP fest games) but while I think the top line was not at their best, there were also some 'chances' of sorts that I don't think register in the conventional way- pucks flying through the crease that Tkachuk or Lindholm whiffed at....
anyways not trying to defend their night, but it did feel to me that there were a few sorties around the net that on other nights could have ended in good things for them...otherwise yeah not enough happening around the slot- I think/hope they can correct that...maybe we need more Klingberg!
