Felt to me like Dallas was the one forcing the tight play. They collapsed on their goalie a lot. They seem to be following the same game plan that brought them success a few years ago, which was a very tight and physical game. The problem for them is that's also a game plan that a Sutter based team is very comfortable with, and the Flames have the more consistent and deep offensive team, so are more likely to capitalize on the openings than Dallas.
Oettinger made a couple great saves, and the Flames shot a few pucks into his foot that would have been goals if only a few inches higher.
The one goal lead should make any fan nervous, but we also need to accept that this is how Dallas plays. In 2020 all 4 wins the Stars got in the Western Conference were 1 goal games, with Dallas getting 3 or fewer goals.
IMO the Flames should just try to match Dallas in their shutdown/physical game, as that's a matchup they can win. Trying to open up and score too many goals is a trap.
