Look at Hyman on the 4th goal…. What in the absolute ####!? When the puck is turned over he continues to drift backwards into the neutral zone, and stays outside the blue line for almost the entire sequence!!! Unbelievable.
On the behind the net can replay just gaze out to centre ice and you’ll see him wishing he was still in Toronto.

This is just another short cut to a dead end for the Oilers.
After losing out on the David Clarkson “sweepstakes” they pined after a “Milan Lucic” type player as what they needed. Ignoring that Milan is most effective on a Milan Lucic style team. Never draft & develop a player either, short cut, just overpay for Milan, and they are still paying.
The Ken Holland shortcut is self evident.
Zach Hyman was yet another shortcut to shore up McDavid & Draisatl’s defensive shortcomings. Again, they ignored that Zach can do this on a team where the star players have minutes managed to enable an assemblage of defensive mindfulness to stop on pucks, and minimize overly selfish offensive risks.
Now whatever defensive acumen he has is being poisoned by the Oiler way.
