MOD and map updates for the day. Shelling in the Izyum area over the last couple of days with no ground advances by Russia on any front. These are likely caused by the command post the Ukrainians destroyed which killed some 200 Russian troops and a general a few days ago.
Ukrainians are slowly pushing back around the Kharkiv area and have made some minor gains there. They are likely waiting for the remainder of the NATO provided artillery pieces and the crew to get trained as well as helicopters to be delivered/crews trained before any further offensive. So far 70 of the 90 M777s have been delivered and half the ammo with 220 crew trained.
MOD points out that Russia's modernization of their armed forces really didn't help any of the troops on the ground or training thereof and hasn't helped them in Ukraine, especially with the near wipeout of the VDV airborne units around Kyiv.

An adviser to General Valery Zaluzhnyi, Ukraine’s top commander, recently explained how his forces halted the Russian advance on Kyiv. “Anti-tank missiles slowed the Russians down,” he said, “but what killed them was our artillery. That was what broke their units.” In the current fighting in southern and eastern Ukraine, where the two sides are more entrenched, artillery is even more pivotal. And the more sophisticated versions Western countries have started to give Ukraine could make all the difference.

Also Russian foreign minister Lavrov is a clown, he is trying to garner support among the Israelis against Ukraine but he does so telling them that "Hitler was a Jew" and the Israeli government is pro-fascist because they "support the neo-Nazi regime of Zelensky in Ukraine". Yea Lavrov, that'll totally bring the Jews in line.
Quote:
Russia's foreign ministry accused Israel on Tuesday of supporting neo-Nazis in Ukraine, further escalating a row which began when Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov claimed Adolf Hitler had Jewish origins.
Israel lambasted Lavrov on Monday, saying his claim – made when talking about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy who is Jewish – was an "unforgivable" falsehood that debased the horrors of the Nazi Holocaust.
Leaders from several Western nations denounced Lavrov's comments and Zelenskyy accused Russia of having forgotten the lessons of World War Two.
The Russian ministry said in a statement that Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid's comments were "anti-historical" and "explaining to a large extent why the current Israeli government supports the neo-Nazi regime in Kyiv".
Moscow reiterated Lavrov's point that Zelenskyy's Jewish origins did not preclude Ukraine from being run by neo-Nazis.
"Antisemitism in everyday life and in politics is not stopped and is on the contrary nurtured (in Ukraine)," it said in a statement.
