If I could design the ideal scenario for max home ice advantage to the better seeded team, it would be:
Game 1 and 2 on the road
Game 3 and 4 at home
Game 5 on the road
Game 6 and 7 at home

This would give the lower seeded team the advantage as 3 of the first 5 are on the road. You lose 1 home game and it could be lights out before you get to games 6 and 7.
