For a Bell HD receiver?
Nothing in the book to make it clear, and I can't find anything on the net.

What inputs do you have on the back of your tv?
An A/V receiver is not in the mix?
Are you planning on recording the dish to the VCR? (People still have VCRs? )
Do you record DVD->VCR?
What inputs are on the VCR?

-Bell HD receiver
-Toshiba HD rear projection (new ... has them all including DVI)
-Toshiba DVD/VCR unit (all in one)
Inputs are all there from what I can see ... all 5 months old at worst.
Don't care if I can tape and watch at the same time ... we have another Bell reciever upstairs if we want to watch something else. [/b][/quote]
If Expressvu rcvr has DVI:
Picture: DVI-Bell to DVI-TV. or Component( component cables are the red/green/blue cables that come as a group of three.)from the dish to component on the cable. Either will pass the HD signal. Difference in quality is negligible.
Audio: Red/White rca cable on the Bell to Rec/White RCA on the TV input that matches the picture option you chose. DVI will have its audio inputs and components will have theirs.
VCR/DVD - If your dvd player has them, use the components(red/green/blue) from the dvd to components on the tv, with the matching red/white rca audio cables. If not, use the s-video or composite(yellow) cable and the red/white rca cables, they vcr may only be able to utilize these outputs as well, in which case you may want to hook up both.
That setup will let you view both sources.
It gets tricky if you want to record your satellite to your vcr. Your vcr will only be able to record SD using the SD outputs on your satellite (Either S-Video/composite or coax.) You won't be able to pass through the hd thru the vcr/dvd either. The problem is, that most of these satellite hd receivers don't have the SD and HD connections "hot" at the same time. This means you have to switch your satellite receiver to SD mode to record from it, and switch back when you want to view in HD mode. Big pain in the ass. I'm not sure about the Bell unit, so I'd test to see if this is the case. Anyway, if you want to do this, you'd hook up the Component cables and rca cables from the satellite to the TV and either the yellow composite/s-video and rca cables from the satellite to the VCR.
