I was surprised to see that Pettersson had managed to bounce back and get up close to 30 goals and 60+ points since he was on pace for something like 35 points at the start of the year... checked his game log. Since the halfway mark of the season he's on an 82 game pace of 45 goals and 100 points... rumours of his demise appear to have been greatly exaggerated.
Even if they miss the playoffs (which is almost certain, they play the Wild, Flames and Oilers while the Kings play a bunch of bottom feeders) the fact that their young star center didn't turn into a pumpkin after all is a pretty good silver lining.
