Which is why I'm hoping she's a different version of him from an alt universe, which makes me feel better about that. Keeps the worthy circle very small, as it should be.
I haven't read the comics this is based on obviously, but that would make sense with the whole multiverse splitting going on. But I think I also heard somewhere that it's Jane's character undergoing a transformation of sorts that turns her into she-Thor.

I think in the comics she has cancer and is given the power of Thor to keep her alive (at the sacrifice of Thor losing his powers). I don't think they'll necessarily go that route here. Marvel has done a good job off keeping what makes sense and losing things that won't work when it comes to adapting comic stories.
However, it could be both. Infinite universes, infinite ways to do it. It doesn't have to jive with current continuity at all.
