And yeah what Hemsworth does is not “staying in shape”. To do what he does with his body takes a regime of working out and eating like Michael Phelps. It’s not a fun time by all accounts. Especially as they get older. Hugh Jackman talked about the necessary combo of working out and dehydration and starving in order to do a shirtless scene as Wolverine.

It is something that has to be taken into account for all actors working on Superhero films.
It is physically demanding and exhausting, not to mention packing that much muscle onto your frame for an extended period of time can also do some fun damage to ye ol' joints.
Similar to a guy like Daniel Craig, because getting into that shape is hard, staying in that shape is nearly impossible and then getting back into that kind of shape is straight-up brutal.
