Well I admit that I had to look up the term "neo-atheism", I don't know that I'd call them (or me) insane.

Seems reasonable enough, don't you think? Of course I don't know what (if any) activities these people get up to. If they are out protesting Sunday mass or firebombing synagogues, then they are insane. But believing in evolution and not believing in god does not mean you are crazy. The "people in the middle" don't have a monopoly on sanity because they believe in both.
