Not this time around though. His production post all star break has been excellent as with his numbers against playoff teams.

Like I’ve said many times in the past, the previous lines Gaudreau was on relied heavily on run & gun which disappears in the playoffs/late in the season.

But now that he’s with Lindholm and Tkachuk, they don’t just rely on running & gunning, they check for their chances and that’s how you produce in the playoffs.

I don’t know if they’ll keep up the same 100 point paces, but as long as they can win their matchups at 5 on 5, then I’m much more optimistic for this team’s success then the failed Gaudreau-Monahan duo that basically lost every series match up from the 2015 Ducks to today. Hard to win playoff series when the top line is actually hurting the team rather than helping.

The guys up north can't stop talking about how bad Johnny is in the playoffs, not recognizing the reason he was in the past and what's different this year. Which is quite the delicious irony because their duhnamic duo can't do crap in the post season, and nothing about them is different this year.

Johnny didn't just do what he does, but more of it. He has changed into an actual 2 way hockey player along with his line-mates who realized that if you are on the ice and you want to score but you don't have the puck, you don't wait for someone to get it to you, you put it in gear and go get it yourself.
