I did this once about 20 years ago when almost being hit by a car.
I slapped the car, yelled, then went on my way.
a couple of minutes later two guys that were very angry threw me up against a building on a busy street in the middle of the day, with tons of people around.
not one person helped me. I haven't hit a car again. being right isn't worth getting assaulted.

The other thing to think about is that you
aren't right. If someone almost hits you, yes, they've committed a traffic infraction, that much is true. But you aren't a victim of anything, and damaging or attempting to damage their property now puts you in the wrong too. Something almost happening doesn't afford you the right to damage property in retaliation.
