Does he realize that the banana he has is a genetic clone bred (evolved) over time to be the way it is; wild bananas are very different. And other cultures actually open the banana at the other end!
As for the peanut butter thing.. well maybe new life has sparked inside a jar, but who's looking?? Maybe some kid somewhere ate the evidence!
