If all of this is really about professionalism, and scratching a guy who is not playing well enough to warrant NHL ice time, their decisions over the past year seem to contradict their stated intentions.
Letting him get this close to 1000, only to pull the plug at the last minute, just seems like a really d### move. The Flyers gain nothing by Yeo doing this.

100%. The move was clearly to sit him after game 965 if they realized that they were in a situation where they were cornered. If I'm a Flyers fan, I'm really worried about their pro scout situation that they didn't see this as an issue when they signed him, though.
