The Flames just went through a two month PDO bender ... good teams do that. They get in a groove and things go their way. But all PDO benders self correct ... not a two month full self correction but a blip.

Yeah i agree, this isnt an effort issue, its an execution issue.
Its kind of been coming for a while too. I think it started with the Sharks game. That was the first time i noticed guys starting to cheat on coverage as well as zone exits. They kept getting caught below the puck or on the wrong side of their check.
Blatant example last night on the Kings tying goal when Backlund inexplicably left his mark to chase the puck carrier behind the net and left Arvidsson all alone 15 out. He doesn't do that, there is zero danger as it was set up.
A lot of those times it can be chalked to mental mistakes which are usually caused by fatigue. Not sure if thats what we are seeing here with the insane amount of hockey played recently, but they better figure it out real quick. There are no real breaks now as the essentially play every other night from here on out.
Tey should be fine though. Might have to rotate guys getting a night off here and there, but I can see them getting it back together after some video work.
May as well start it Saturday against what should be a tired Blues club.
