I agree with the majority of the critics on this one, but clearly it wasn't for everyone.

Nope made no sense, why the space monkeys and pirates? presumably the director read the script and thought 'wow dude travels to space to argue with his dad, bit dull, what can we add to jazz it up a bit, yes man eating space monkeys, who cares why there are monkeys in space, how they got loose, how they learnt to move in null G as if they were born to it rather than just huddling in a ball terrified out of their monkey brains, yes they work, pirates, everyone loves pirates, who cares that its the moon so there is no where for pirates to hide, no food for them to eat, no point at all attacking random rovers driving around, lets just have some effing pirates'
