Dune was great and I watched it multiple times in theatres and on TV... Just to dilute the silliness from the people who are complaining about it. It's still Villeneuve's third best piece of science fiction, for me, but it was very well done and a true spectacle of filmmaking. I'm not sure if having read the book made it better or worse, though.
The idea that it's a movie for "non-thinkers" is a hilariously dumb take.
