There's no way to avoid that in any OT scenario. Even with the CFL/college OT rules of possession from the 35 yard line the team with the last possession will always have the advantage of knowing what they need to score to remain tied so they have 3 (or 4) downs to get a TD if necessary. A coin flip is always going to provide a bit of an advantage but in this new format it will be less of an advantage.
