there are some things that always happen in a fight, you always know a guy is going to hit you, you can see it his body language, the thousand yard stare, you always know and so you always back up, you dont even know you are doing it but everyone does, you may be pleading for peace or getting ready to punch him back but everyone backs up a step and gets tense, Rock didnt move, their was nothing about this that looked legit including the normal live TV reaction which would be to cut to commercial

And again a slap!! just enough to look real without being too violent and requiring shutting the whole thing down
