Johnny's always come off as someone who wants to win. I can't see him wasting what could be his final NHL contract on a team that isn't immediately competitive.

I feel like we're really lucky the Devils and Flyers are rebuilding, they likely won't be a destination for him because of that. The Rangers are the only other spot near home but they're going to be in a cap crunch with only 10 million in cap space and many holes to fill. Capitals and Bruins are options too, however both those teams are dealing with cap problems as well.

Unless he really just wants to leave I think it probably makes the most sense from a career perspective to stay with the Flames.
