In the first period the Edmonton Oilers were pretty good overall and the Flames were swimming in their own end. But I think that has to do with their legs being heavy and the Oilers being fresh. But Lucic set a physical tone.

I mean the flames allowed two goals even strength, and three on the penalty kill. One on a 5-3 which is always a 50/50.

But 5v5 the Flames were dominant, it wasn't even close, it was embarressing for the Oilers. But it was to be expected, I mean its great that under Woodcroft, they were 9-1 or something like that against non playoff teams. But they're now I think 4-6 against playoff teams.

The other thing is that for the Oilers, Koskinen gets hot and carries them, then dramatically cools off. In the last 5 the Oilers are 2-3 with wins against SJ and NJ and losses, against Col, Dal and a blow out to the Flames.

My question to the Oiler's fans on this board is, and be honest. Do you really want to see the Oilers in the Playoffs? Do you want that first round matchup against a Col or Dal? Because honestly, its going to be ugly.

My other question is, Can you really be satisfied with McDavid and Draisiatl? I mean sure they get points, but beyond the whole they don't give a crap about backchecking, there's the whole, when the going gets tough, Draisiatl pouts and McDavid vanishes.

I mean yes, they are superstars, absolutely they put up points, but man, those two are deeply flawed, and in their mid 20's now with no sign of change.

The Flames were awesome last night on the penalty kill. But they were very good 5v5 without the puck and got stronger as the game went on, and were awesome offensively. They can fix the penalty kill, they can be more disciplined, but the Flames don't have a consistant basically character flaw.

Oh and the other question for Oiler fans, you know the ones that hype over and over that McDavid should win the heart or Draisiatl.

Hows it feel to know that at best Draisaitl and McDavid are at best the 3rd and 4th best players in the province of Alberta?
