Nobody ever considered that a hockey market. The arena project was a failed real estate swindle.

The NHL has a long and ridiculous history of playing in arenas that were defective, undersized, badly located, or just plain unusable. This thing in Phoenix isn't the first or even the worst, and won't be the last.
