I don't blame Eichel... but their LTIR was there before the trade and they're well over the cap if those players return. I just think they were doing better before Eichel - even after the trade and before Eichel was playing - they seemed to be doing better. Chemistry is a weird science in hockey - and of course I have no idea if it's Eichel or not, or even if one of the players they traded for him could have upset the room, or if it's the many injuries they have - we just don't know.
Many deadline or blockbuster trades that look so good on paper just don't pan out - especially deadline ones.

I think the most critical piece to VGK's success (now that MA Fleury is gone) is Mark Stone. They have looked substantially worse since he was placed on IR, and this happened to coincide with Eichel's activation.
The thing is, regardless of what happens this season, VGK will need to make HUGE changes over the summer in order to get to cap compiance by next October. This was their one shot, and it has turned into a disaster.
