Does the NHL not examine every player contract to ensure that it fits within the CBA (and its own) rules? If so...they knew that Dadonov at least had the potential of an NTC...and should have followed up on the NTC either being waived, if submitted, or ignored if not submitted.
I just don't see a middle ground here.
