Ever since I watched the really interesting documentary on Triumph on Crave, I've been on a Triumph run at home.

I think Triumph does get under rated, one of the premier power trio's that Canada has ever seen in terms of the metal generation. Not only were they powerful. But the grouping of Gil Moore, Rik Emmit and Mike Levine were extremely talented. I'd also go on to say that Emmet was a giant as far as guitar players went even though he had to compete against a lot of guitar gods from the 80's like Eddie Van Halen and others. I mean I dare you to listen to the guitar solo on Rock and Roll machine from the live album stages and not have your jaw drop to the floor. I mean seriously.

Its hard to find a Triumph album without a great song or two or three, though surveillance was their last great album and featured the exit of Emmett from the group.

But LAy it on the line, Magic Power, Fight the good fight, Hold on, Somebody's out there, Follow Your Heart and Spellbound for example are all songs that even today are just incredible listens and age well.

From a live perspective, I've seen them several times, and their concerts were always amazing.

Also a great cover of Spellbound by Sven Galli
