That was a huge cult movie in Vancouver when I arrived in the '80's and I was dragged to it by my now ex wife, it had an almost permanent Friday night showing at one of the theatres through the decade (followed of course by the Rocky Horror Picture Show as the midnight showing) growing up in left wing UK I was hugely anti south African and anti apartheid, the whole film gave off a reek of South African 'laugh at the stupid k*****' (Afrikans slang, not nice)
