The lack of really bad writing really shone through in the season finale of Star Trek Discovery tonight. It was a pretty lackluster season, and the finale just felt lazy and they did the whole ridiculous solutions to problems to get them fixed in a hurry with no fuss no muss.
They also did the thing
Spoiler!
You know the thing, where you kill off a main character, and everyone goes oh my god I can't believe they killed him, then do the miraculous resurrection thing at the end, and yeah, I'm talking about Book.
Also here's the other annoying thing. They spend a whole episode around learning how to communicate with the 10C. Then in the last episode Saru's girlfriend simply mind melds with them to communicate.
Oh and to escape from the bubble, they literally burn out the spore drive forever, and they're like 10's of thousands of light years from home, with only the normal warp drive, which is probably some lame nod to Voyager, but then the 10C simply send them home.
I mean I want to give a bit of credit, the Actors clearly put everything into this show despite how ludicrous the writing is, and how silly the whole season plot line is. Clearly the set designers are very creative and good.
But man, its the writing, its just so terrible.
Also I knew they were going to bring Tilly back, and she was just as annoying as always.
