If a choice were to come down to you have to choose one, who do you move, Eatbread or Kylly, I'd move Kylly. Don't get me wrong, I really like Kylly, and he has emerged as a superb blueliner this season. But this team seems to be producing a number of nice defensemen prospects and seem set at that position for quite some time. The other consideration is that Kylly doesn't become UFA until 2024, so his trade value is high. He might be the piece that you package with Monahan & Lucic to get their salaries off the books...
I think it feels that way because the Flames have fairly recently graduated Kylington and Andersson, and because their defense core is quite young. However, there really aren't a lot of blueliners coming up through the ranks: Mackey looks like he could be a player, then there is Valimaki—who is still trying to find his footing after a couple of disastrous developmental setbacks. Then, it's players like Kuznetsov, Kinnvall and Poirier who are still really raw, and with very uncertain slotting.

The Flames's top prospects right now are mostly scoring forwards: Pelletier, Coronato, Zary; and then you add a wildcard like Kevin's to that mix, and I think this is the obvious strength of the depth chart from which to make deals.
